Precision Pain Relief

Acupuncture is a minimally invasive way to relieve chronic pain in several areas of the body. With thin needles administered at different depths, acupuncture can benefit your current treatment plan. Your acupuncture practitioner can use precise needle placement to help stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue.

How Acupuncture Can Help You

Acupuncture is a supplementary pain relief treatment that can help you feel more energized. It’s a treatment for chronic pain in the back, neck, and other areas. If you’re living with pain, our team can create a customized treatment plan to help you get back to doing the things you love.

The Acupuncture Process

Everyone has different health needs, so we plan our treatment plan around your goals.

Your journey begins with a full assessment of your injury, pain, or reason for seeking treatment. We’ll ask about any prior injuries, your medical history, and any medications you currently take. Certain conditions may affect your eligibility for acupuncture, so your practitioner must get a complete picture of your health.

We’ll ask about your treatment goals and how we can help you achieve them. After the assessment is complete, we’ll understand the cause of your pain.

Your assessment will help us understand why you’re experiencing chronic pain. After identifying the problem, we’ll educate you on the recommended treatment plan. We want you fully involved throughout this process—patients who are more involved tend to experience better treatment outcomes.

Your personalized care plan describes your treatment, outlined for the upcoming weeks. We’ll walk through this plan to help you understand this process and its desired results. Once you understand your treatment plan, we can begin treating your pain.

Every body is different, meaning that several factors can impact your treatment process. We continuously reassess the effectiveness of your treatment program to provide you with the best possible results. We can adapt your treatment plan as necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions

In Western practice, acupuncture needles stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue. This stimulation can help ease chronic pain, such as low-back pain, neck pain, and knee pain. Acupuncture has connections to other types of pain relief, including less frequent tension headaches and the prevention of migraines.

Acupuncture can be a treatment option if you experience chronic pain. Research is ongoing about the effects of acupuncture, and science will tell us more about this treatment with time.

You don’t need a referral to see a certified acupuncture practitioner. While your doctor may recommend you receive acupuncture to address a condition, you can seek this treatment yourself.

While any treatment option has its risks, acupuncture is safe when performed by a trained and certified practitioner using sterile needles. You may experience some soreness or minor bruising depending on where you receive treatment. Acupuncture may not be ideal for everyone, and we will assess your eligibility during your initial assessment.

During treatment, you lie on a comfortable table where your practitioner inserts thin needles into targeted areas on your body. The treatment procedure includes:

  • Needle insertion: Thin needles go into your skin until they reach the required depth. You may not even notice anything as your practitioner inserts them. A mild aching sensation is possible once the needles hit their correct depth.
  • Needle manipulation: Depending on your needs, your practitioner may gently move the needles after placing them or apply an electrical pulse.
  • Needle removal: You will lay with needles placed for approximately 10–20 minutes before your practitioner removes them. People rarely experience discomfort during needle removal.
